Kanban in 5 Steps – Visualization

Just like the last post with a map of Agile & Lean this one contains material for my upcoming talk at the FrOSCon in St. Augustin, near Bonn – August 25th and 26th, 2012.

This one is about the 5 steps of Kanban. I’ll zoom around the picture with Prezi.

Kanban in 5 steps - Visualized

  1. Visualize the workflow -> Board
  2. Limit Work-In-Progress -> Zoom in on red circles
  3. Manage flow -> Finished work package with “Cycle Time?”
  4. Explicit policies -> Well, the policies
  5. Feedback loop & continuous improvement -> It’s supposed to be a mirror, okay?

The example board is a simplified version of one used by an admin team.
